JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

This position processes and distributes products between the corporate warehouse and designated store location, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.  

Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1.  Move product/supplies from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.2.  Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.3.  Ensure accuracy of transfer documentation.4.  Ensure stock room is accessible and safe for employee traffic.5.  Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method (tagging).6.  Assist in counting of physical inventory.7.  May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.8.  Sweep, dust and mop.  Organize stock room and work area for orderliness at all times.9.  Pick up product/supplies from corporate warehouse and deliver to designated store location.  This requires usage of personal vehicle. No additional mileage compensation is provided; it is included in negotiated hourly rate for the position.

  1.  Ensure adequate merchandise levels and supplies levels in conjunction with store manager as to avoid emergency deliveries.
  2.  Communicate merchandise/supply needs between store and corporate partners.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work EnvironmentThis position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, ticketing guns, box cutters and tape dispensers.

Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, though they will vary during peak business times such as Mother's Day (Spring), Back-to School (August) and Holiday (November/December).

Required Education and Experience 1.  High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Education and Experience 1.  One year of prior warehouse clerk experience.
